Had the privilege to distribute shoe boxes in the last 4 years ,but in 2007 we were asked to coordinate the Samaritean's Purse project in our whole county.
We felt so excited as the gifts would have come from us .The reaction of kids made us forget of how tired we were..it was no easy to distribute about 10,000 boxes .
Do not remember a single child even, that waited to get home and opened the box .As we left the schools or rooms where we had the Christmas program ,we saw kids everywhere opening wide their boxes. Some of them could not be seen ,for they were half way in the box.
When we though we are done , kids were calling us to give explanations about items in the box .Many of them did not know how to use certain things in the box and they were asking for help from us .
With the boxes came little books about Christmas story .One little boy from the second grade in a school in Leresti, remind us how privileged we are to hear about God . When he got the book ,he grabbed the box with one hand to make sure nobody would take it away ,and all of the sudden we hear a shout in the classroom
What colorful colors !Wow!
'Do you mean all this box is mine???"
"I am touched !It is my first gift ever..said a 12 year old girl"
Unbelievable! This book it is so great ! It is all about God ! "
"Now,school is more fun..because I got in the box pencils, markers, notebook and no one will laugh on me now.I am soooooooooo happy"
